# Notifications

> Choose how you receive assignments, mentions, and problem updates.

Open [Alerts](https://interfere.com/~/*/settings/alerts) to choose which updates reach you through in-app notifications, email, and Slack.

## Personal notifications

Set each delivery channel for problem assignments, mentions, comments, team membership requests, and status changes. Comment and status notifications apply to problems you subscribe to.

To follow a problem, open it and press <kbd>S</kbd>. Press <kbd>S</kbd> again to change your subscription.

## Slack notifications

Connect [Slack](/docs/integrations/slack.md) to deliver workspace updates to channels. Channel routing is configured by category: problems, team activity, and collaboration.

Link your Slack identity to receive personal mentions and assignments as direct messages. Your personal delivery preferences and the workspace's channel routing control different destinations.

## Missing an update

Check that the relevant notification type and delivery channel are enabled. For comments and status changes, confirm that you are subscribed to the problem. For Slack, check the connection and the destination configured for that category.
